Just a heads up re Friends of Thwaite Gardens Open Day Sun 19th May.
Parking in the gardens strictly limited to Blue Badge Holders.
Parking possible in the surrounding area, Cottingham Railway Station (free). Also, on New Village Road where you can cut through via Cornwall St, Devon St or Exeter St.
Train is always a good option too.
Admission free to AFO members.
Family & friends £5 each - under 16s free.
Dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Please be mindful that the limited number of tables and chairs are for people buying refreshments so please, if possible, bring a folding chair or picnic blanket for yourselves as there are so many of us this year.
A reminder that there are no savouries on the refreshment stall - only cake, tea, coffee & juice. So bring a sandwich if preferred but please please buy cake as this is our annual fund raiser £££
More volunteers have been put onto the rota for when our sets finish so there shouldn’t be such a queue this year!
CASH ONLY PLEASE.
For your convenience 🤣
There are two toilets in the classroom (the one outside is wheelchair access). In the old glasshouse block there are another two toilets from a bygone age 😧 Currently we’re acquiring Izal toilet paper and carbolic soap to enhance the historic experience 🤣
Happily there will be some Portaloos this time!! 🥳
Finally, please be aware of the many trip hazards especially when entering the glasshouses.
The Friends of Thwaite Gardens are so delighted we’ll be there for the 6th year.
Thank you so much you lovely people 🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵
