Its been an absolutely incredible week so far and I felt inspired to lift us all to the next level, hopefully youll feel inspired by my blog here goes.
One of the most powerful things about being in a choir is the way our voices come together in harmony. The Oxford English Dictionary defines a choir as “an organised group of singers who perform or lead the musical aspects of a service in musical harmony.”
We all know it is much more than that. A choir is about unity, confidence and joy. It is about people, not just notes.
Why Daily Practice Matters
Imagine this. If each of us practised the songs we are learning just once a day, even for a few minutes, by the time rehearsal comes around the music feels familiar, natural and fun.
From an amateur perspective, the difference is huge. Think of it like this:
Five minutes a day becomes thirty five minutes a week. That is half an extra rehearsal you have given yourself without even noticing.
Studies show that repetition is what turns learning a song into owning a song.
When everyone takes that little bit of time, the group as a whole sounds tighter, more confident and more joyful.
This week we have been working on Feliz Navidad and the chorus and intro to Coldplay. If everyone can be confident with those before next week, it will lift the whole room.
Why we encourage practice. Raising the Bar
There is an old saying: “If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing well.” That could not be more true for us. Raising the bar is not about chasing perfection, it is about giving our best and growing in the process.
When we practise and push ourselves, it is not only good for the choir, it is good for us. Singing in harmony is proven to boost brain activity, sharpen memory, and release those wonderful endorphins that lift our mood. And when we achieve that sense of success together, the pride and well being we feel is priceless.
Every voice matters. Every little bit of practice makes a difference. And together, we raise the bar not only for the choir, but for ourselves.
What Makes Us Stand Out ✨
Our choir has been recognised with awards for the special connection we create with audiences. What sets us apart is that we do not have our heads buried in sheets. We sing with freedom, joy and confidence, which allows us to give a gift wherever we perform.
Lots of choirs sing beautifully using sheet music and lyric sheets, often with straightforward harmonies, and that style has its own charm. But what we do is something completely different. We focus on energy, expression and connection, and that is why people feel something special when they hear us sing.
And if M&S did choirs, we would definitely be one of them. We are not just any choir. We are All For One Choir. That is why we have had the privilege of singing for Coldplay, performing in the media, working alongside celebrities, and holding our own at our special concerts. These opportunities come because of the standard we achieve together, and because we stand out for all the right reasons.
Pride and Solidarity
That connection, that inspiration, is something truly unique. The standard we achieve is something to behold, and it comes from the commitment of every single member.
We are so proud of each and every one of you. You have not joined just for a weekly sing. You have chosen to be part of something that is growing, evolving and continuing to be absolutely incredible.
When you stand together in solidarity with your fellow choir members, we hope you feel that same pride in yourself that we feel in you. Because when our voices unite, we create something far greater than any one of us could achieve alone

.
The Gift We Share
And of course, when our audience watches, they see something fantastic. People are moved, inspired and uplifted by the gift we share.
When our individual efforts combine, the result is more than music. It is community, inspiration and joy. Truly, we are greater than the sum of our parts. 💫
Thank You
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support and for being part of our vision. Each one of you makes this choir what it is. Together we are building something that is not only extraordinary but also inspiring, uplifting and life changing.

That's lovely Helen and so true. I also find that daily practice helps with my posture and breathing. After a good sing my lungs feel so much more expanded and my breathing is better. xxx
